Bearing and Spindle Shaft

The bearing assembly plays a crucial role in turntable performance. It must allow the platter to rotate smoothly and consistently, without transferring vibrations to the stylus. Advances in bearing liner materials have made it possible to improve upon the traditional two bushing system.

This innovative bearing liner material has the following features:

The spindle shaft is a case hardened, polished steel shaft. A hardened ball bearing is inserted into the bottom of the spindle shaft. This ball rides upon a ceramic thrust plate within the bearing housing.
